Instran Caustic Soda Concentration Meter
A caustic soda concentration meter that achieves very high measurement accuracy.
The measurement is conducted by titrating the sample with hydrochloric acid and reaching a colorimetric endpoint corresponding to a specific pH. In this measurement, phenolphthalein is used as an indicator. In the initial state, when it reacts with caustic soda, the solution shows a deep pink color (pH > 8). Subsequently, as it reacts with the titrating acid, the pH decreases, and when it reaches pH < 8, it surpasses the equivalence point of caustic soda, and the color of the solution changes to colorless (transparent). By using an LED of appropriate wavelength and a photometer, high measurement accuracy is achieved.
